Environmental Responsibility
Decommissioning for us means recycling. With recycling quotas of up to 99%, we are an active part of the circular economy.
We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our decommissioning activities. By implementing stringent measures, the risks of harming the environment are mitigated.
One key provision is the fluid-repellent floor that prohibits any contaminants from getting into the soil. Water on the surface of the yard is collected and stored in a designated water tank. The water is monitored regularly and is used for dust suppression – any excess water is brought to an industrial waste-water treatment facility.
Our commitment is reflected by our ISO 14001 certified environmental management system and is integrated in our day-to-day work. In terms of compliance, our yard is fully licensed for decommissioning projects, including the handling of NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) and we keep a close eye on the changes in legislation.
